Starting tonight at 10pm the Roosevelt Island Tram will be out of service until Thursday June 19th at 6am. The below image, courtesy of the Main Street WIRE, lists the Red Bus schedule of service to Queens Plaza South / Jackson Avenue.

How is a bus that goes to Queens Plaza supposed to replace the tram that goes to Manhattan? Is anybody going to take that bus? What is the thinking behind this?
ReplyDeletethe thinking is thus: people say the F is too crowded to replace the tram, so bus them to a different subway line!
ReplyDeletesadly, the E, N, R, V W and 7 are just as crowded as the F at morning rush hour, and it will add another 15 minutes or so to your commute on a GOOD day to get to qboro plaza.
you could probably get a seat on an F in the time you sat on the bus to queens.
i guess they need to be seen to be doing SOMEthing...
