ROOSEVELT L!VE - Full Schedule Released

The folks who are putting together ROOSEVELT L!VE have put out the full schedule of groups to play at Roosevelt Island's Riverwalk Commons from May 23rd through September 5th and it looks like it will be a busy 15 weeks of concerts. Not being anything remotely close to being a hipster I have no clue as any of these groups are. I will be honest I am glad I don't live facing the Commons area.

Nonno's, Duane Reade, and Starbucks should clean up quite nicely with that amount of foot traffic. You have to give Hudson / Related credit for doing all they can to bring foot traffic to the island to see their new buildings and hopefully set up apartment tours. Maybe after the concerts the visitors can even schedule some rappelling time down the sides of the buildings.

I just hope the MTA holds to its goal of not disrupting weekend subway service while the tram is off line. Kudos to the concert promoters for highlighting the F Train service.

Duane Reade Not Leaving Roosevelt Island

If in the next few weeks or months you see a change in colors at the local Duane Reade it does not mean that the store is leaving Roosevelt Island or being replaced by some other chain it simply is the company's attempt at updating their image. See the story on the NY Times.

This video shot on January 26, 2008 is of the plaza outside the Roosevelt Island Subway Station and includes the Red Bus, a NYCTA Q102 bus, a view through Riverwalk Plaza allowing the viewer to see the KeySpan Ravenswood Energy Plant, the Duane Reade at 425 Main Street, a view of the Queensboro Bridge and the East River.

Still Zero Cash Flow at RI Chase ATM

I spoke this afternoon with Jennifer one of the store managers at the local Duane Reade. The Chase ATM is still off line.

They are now hoping for this Wednesday but it seems they are still having some sort of connectivity issue.

No Cash Yet from the Duane Reade Chase ATM

I stopped by the Duane Reade yesterday evening here on the Island before heading home with the goal of withdrawing some cash from the Chase ATM. Unfortunately I found that it has not been connected yet.

One of the ladies behind the registers indicated that they had been trying all day but cannot get the connection to work yet. So no money this weekend until their tech guy comes back next week to try again. Maybe they should turn off the big blue light in the window until the connection is up and running.
