The Castle Playground Exists No More

It was long in coming but the demolition of the old castle playground just South of the Eastwood apartment complex on Roosevelt Island has taken place.

So in memory of that playground here is one more look at it before it was demolished and is looked today. And for those that remember the old wooden playground that preceded the castle design a single picture from that time.

I know the plans are to build a new playground using the Playtime company which is used at most of the other playgrounds on the island but I would not mind bringing back something like the old wooden playground which I think would have more character than the modern equivalents whicha ll tend to look and feel the same.
