You may recall the images on the new banners posted around Roosevelt Island from a showcase earlier this year of the original artwork in the Rivercross Window Case (see earlier Nov. 6th post). They include images of the Tram, the Lighthouse, Good Shepherd Community Center, among others.
What you may not know is the artist's name Tony Vita. He was profiled in the Main Street WIRE some years back and you probably have walked by him on Main Street or sat by him at Trellis.
These poster images of Roosevelt are wonderful. It makes you feel that our little island is the setting for some fantastic literature.
ReplyDeleteI hope the images are reproduced for sale as cards etc.

ReplyDeletethe whiteing of roosevelt island thats the way. rioc wants it. see all the people moving onto the island are white in 10 to 15 years there will be very very few black and hispanc people living here . i ask you how the hell did we ever let this happend ,rioc made this happend. this is what rioc wants .an all white island. with high rents they want this to be like the upper east side. i ask you rioc .why dont you try to have an affordable apartments build here. maybe just one building . that would be nice so we can save the poor and middle class on the island.but i know why .no more poor and middle class.this for high rent people only,
