Boomerangs will probably never be a fad that all the kids take up on Roosevelt Island. But as this video shows we know that at least once (in 2000) a boomerang did fly over our shores.
This video faces West with Manhattan across the East River and the 59th Street Bridge to the camera's left. It apears this video was either shot on what is now Firefighters Field or the site of the Riverwalk buildings now being built.
