Apparently the bike rack enforcement has been delayed a week. Perhaps we will get better signage.

We decided to put warning tags on this week. ......enforcement next week.
I'll forward your suggestion on signage.

Dear Steve -
I expected to see virtually empty bike racks this morning but I believe many of the bikes were there the night before. Am I incorrect or was the enforcement delayed and if so why?
I also wanted to ask if the policy notices posted could be posted more prominently. The two notices I found on the rack adjacent to the subway were not very visible as they were almost blending in with the bikes as the notice is clipped to the rack. Could the notice be posted on the wall behind the rack above the handlebar level? I think that would be better received than the current notice locations.
Thank you,
Eric

Don't know if you heard but there are signs up at the Octagon that says they are no even longer allowed to even have outside bike racks on the property. (There's one by the tennis court)
ReplyDeleteWonder who in the governing body had a snit fit over bike racks? Never heard them complained before this.
Were the signs put up by RIOC or Octagon Management? Sounds like you are saying the Octagon. Can you send me pictures?
ReplyDeleteThe idea is to take bikes to the saftey patrol office and let owners come and claim them within 48 hours. Who comes up with this stuff? In other words, anyone can claim they own a bike and take it. And if that does not happen then they donate it to the second hand store. So if you are out of town for 48 hours, the bike can be either given away for free by the safety patrol to anyone or sold for a few dollars at the store.
ReplyDeletewhy dont you people get a life.get the hell off the island go live on the upper east side where you all belong.
ReplyDeleteI think Jeff forgot to take his meds.
ReplyDeletewhat the hell is safety patrol? Is this like Pismo Beach or something?
