Wind Rips Construction Canopy Off Roosevelt Island Bridge

The winds, yesterday, Sunday, February 10, 2008 were so striong that the force partially ripped the construction canopy off of the Roosevelt Island Bridge. Traffic was not effected but the sound was amazing as the canopy ripped in the strong winds. No word as to how long Skanska will need to repair the canopy or its effect on the ongoing construction project.

  1. the opening has revealed a large span of green paint... i wonder if that is an old color they stripped down to, the future color, or just a primer. it would be a nice change from the blood red (which faded to the pink we now see).
