Roosevelt Island Tram Off-Line Temporarily Due to "Brake" Problem

The tram was off line from approximatelly 645pm until about 830pm this evening. Most people that climbed the stairs at the Manhattan Station thought perhaps that the scheduled outage for tomorrow night was actually tonight. A member of the tram staff at Street level cleared up the confusion with the bad news.

By 844pm according to staff on the Island side they were were back on line and had already completed three runs. It is unclear if issues still remain as the staff were still examining the control panel as I arrived at the station.

The "brake" was not explained and it unclear as to whether that meant circuit breaker or physical start stop brakes.
